It was just another ordinary winter night, just like any other, really. A strong, cold north eastern gale blew all across the fields around the nearby sleepy city of New Morcia. The dark clouds overhead were tell-tale signs of a thunder storm, the only question was when. The clouds themselves were hardly visable against the darkness, blocking out all sign of stars or moon like a blanket across the night sky. It was at least 11:30 PM, and a few flickering lights remanied in the town, which was somewhat visable, across the rolling grassy plains. New Morcia was the largest and most important city in the area, an important port for both civilian merchant ships and the navy of the medieval kingdom of Rafarnark.
A family of night lizards, scurrying across the grass searching for quick snack were inturupted as a tall, dark clothed man emerged from the murky blackness. The man was barely visable in the darkness, his black hair and equally black coat barely showing up against the night scene. The man lived by fighting, and was allways up for battle. He apparently didn't notice the bitter cold of the night, despite the fact the bottom rim of his coat was flapping rather madly in the freezing winter gale. A pair of swords were tied to his back, their scabards criss crossing very neatly. Reaching into one of his trenchcoat's outer pockets, with his right hand, he produced a small pack of cigarettes. There were five left in the packet, and with his left hand he placed one between his lips. Putting the packet back in it's home in his pocket, and fishing out a silver lighter from somewhere else in his coat, he used it to light the nictotine stick. As he hid the lighter once more, he inhaled the smoke with a sigh. After having a drag on the cigarette, he looked up, and in a quiet, distant, but also aloof voice, the man spoke. "Just another night..." |

True looked from her spot for the opponent. The one whom she was sent by arch angels to fight. True's eyes thinned as she took out her bow and arrow as she looked through the night. "Darkness doesn't matter." She said aloud.
True's wings spread as she took a feather off and attached it to her arrow. She sent it as a message from the heavens that fate has now brought these two fighters together. The area around in the grassy field burned only moments. "Nuriel's useless..." She said growling. "It seems it is too cold for firey angels." Nuriel arrow: A firey arrow sent down from True's feathery wings. she sacrifices a feather to send a fire down to her opponent. The fire spreads into a circle about 40 feet around. |

The man tilted his head to the side, noticing the firey arrow causing a brief blaze that lasted to little to even warm up the toes of the night lizards who had scurried towards it looking for some kind of heat source on this bitter cold night.
The man's eyes flickered around for the location of the arrow's firer. Despite the gloom of the night, his experienced vision was able to locate a pair of angelic wings. He sighed to himself, and took another drag on his cigarette, placing his hands in his coat pockets as he did so. Not again... How many angels do I have to fight? Won't they just leave me the hell alone?" He thought to himself, rolling his eyes a few times and giving out a quiet, agitated yawn. The man, Darias by name, had recently been harrassed by more than a few angel assassins, for rather complicated reasons that he didn't really understand as of yet. He never understood why they allways went at him one at a time, rather than just sending a large group to kill him... Going solo meant angels were a lot easier to send back to heaven the hard way. A loud, echoing boom of thunder rolled across the plains, causing the night-lizards to scurry away for cover. As if on cue, rain started bucketing down, getting harder and harder, drenching everything in sight, including Darias. "The angels cry once more..." The man muttered as he looked upwards, feeling raindrops bounce against his skin and soaking his black. His cigarette almost instantly fizzled out, resulting in him spitting it out and standing on with a grimace on his face. "Speaking of angels..." Darias turned to the area he assumed True was, and called out. "Hey, are you here to kill me? If so, you're not doing a very good job. Last time I checked, I was still breathing." Pulling out another cigarette, he attempted to light it a few times, but obvisously with no success. "C'mon, you bastard..." He muttered, clicking his lighter again and again. |

True didn't reveal herself until she landed. Her landing was soft and quiet and she looked at the man. "Angels sending me?" True laughed. "They told me that I have a challenge. I decided to take it because I was bored," she said with a smirk. "Sure you may be someone to be executed in the higher realms, but I don't care. To be honest I really could care less about what the highest of all could tell me. I only go after what I want. After all I was given free will. Partially angel and gifted the gift of partial humanity. Meaning I go to the higher realms, find out the wanted people, come down, and take them on. I lose I lose, doesn't mean I'm going to kill you because some higher being told me to." She put her bow away.
True smirked as she took out a stick her arrow holder( dammit forgot what to call it). The stick lengthen to a golden staff as she spun it. "I'm no snobby assed arch angel sent here to send you to the lower realms of fire," she said. "I'm a person who goes after the challenge of the fight." She stood at a deffensive position. Her left foot tapped the ground and she looked straight at Darius in the dark. "Don't ever call me a holy being like an angel. Angel's only kill because they are told. I battle because I want to." |

((Arrow holder? You mean quiver, right?))
Darias looked over at the young female, his eyes squinting due to the darkness. Taking in her words, he was pleasantly surprised to hear that she was not sent to kill him, thus negating his previous theory. A slight smile curled up his lips as he stretched his figners out, arms at his side. "Ah, so you are a free spirit, then., following orders from none and living your life as you like.. How interesting. You seem a lot how I once was, fighting whoever you wish and coming and going like a wind..." He paused for a few moments, tilting his head to his side, then shaking madly it like a dog after a bath, obviously attempting to dry his now drenched hair. Of course, due to the unrelenting rain, which was getting worse by the minute, it was mainly due to no avail. He put his right hand in the side pocket, and turned back to look at True, who was standing around thirty or so yards from where he was positioned. "Sorry for assuming you to be an angel, call me short sighted if you will. I've been having a few problems with "holy" beings for a few months now." Another pause, a flash of lightning struck the grass a mere ten feet away from him, causing it to catch fire. Of course, the torrents of falling rain soon doused the flames. Darias apparently didn't notice this, at least he seemed not to, choosing to ignore it and instead concentrate on his "guest". "So, you are here to fight me, then? Ha, I suppose I could use the excersise. Standing here in the rain was just beginning to bore me." Never choosing to back down from a fight, his right hand rose from his pocket and drew his second sword, the Torhado, and held it tightly in an offensive position in front of him, pointed at his opponant. The shiny yellow blade of the weapon was quite visible despite the darkness. "Well, then, let us begin." Darias said expressionlessly, his eyes squinting once more. He was about to launch an attack, when he stopped. "...Wait. I don't know about you, but my eyes cannot see in the dark. Hold on." Lifting his left arm, he quickly began to gather the energy of his Aura, and his palm glowed a colorless hue. Then, suddenly, a large white orb emerged in the skies above, causing the whole area to light up. It was not as bright as day, but it was more than enough for Darias to actually see his opponant. Gazing it her with a cold, calculating glare, possible battle strategies rumbled through his mind. She did not seem too strong, but as he had learnt after years of experience, underestimating opponants was often foolish, so he kept an open opinion. He decided to follow the so called "Warrior's Code", and announce his identidy. "My name is Darias, hunter of demons and angels." He called out, "I would like to know the name of the person I am about to fight, if you do not mind." Illumnos: Using his Aura, Darias can form a bright orb which can light up a kilometre radius with dim light. It hangs fifty feet in the area, but fades away after ten minutes. If one were to touch the orb, they would be covered in searing, painful burns, due to the heat of the energy surrounding it. |

OOC: Thanks I'll remember that. I have a weird one tracked mind at times. Darn rain... disadvantage there.. wings are useless if they get too wet. ><
BIC: True blinked as she noticed this code of his. She liked it and was intrigued that he found an honor in announcing names. After all, with all of the demons and hunters she challeneged they never did announce their names. This person was different to her. More... polite... She thought as he announced his name and made the light in the sky. She looked at the orb and was amazed by how much power. She put a hand through her hair. Her wings began to close as they were drenched by the rain. They faded away dropping feathers everywhere in the rain. True knew she was at a disadvantage in rain, the wings would get soaked and she would be slowwed down by them. She shook her head. Guess that means I can't use holy attacks. She thought. I'll just stick to what magic I can use then. She was stuck in mage form now. True's eyes closed as she announced her name. "True Flight, daughter of Azrael the arch angel and Faith Flight the elemental mage. I take the last name of my mother for she was far nicer than Azrael." True charged as the rain pelted her face. She could see just fine though. Every step she took splashed water through the puddles. She put her hands on the bottom part of the quarter staff and pulled it back. She tensed her arm muscles as she sent a side swipe straight towards Darius's side right at the waistline. She knew that if she missed she would make up for that attack by spinning around a second time making the second swipe diagonally upwards. Every move that was made for that was done with grace and precision. At the end of attack she would be face to face with Darius with her quarter staff held vertically infton of her still holding onto the bottom as if it were a sword. |

((Whoops, late reply. Sorry. Couldn't get on much over the weekend...))
As True announced herself, Darias was beginning to have trouble seeing as rain splashed against his face, causing his soaked black hair to cover his right eye. However, the rain itself wasn't too much of a problem- thanks to the source of llight he created. his visibility wasn't that bad at all, it just meant he wouldn't be able to use any of his fire spells.... well, not all of them. The girl mentioned being half arch-angel, half mage. Of course, that would give the impression that she possessed some fairly potent magic, so Darias partly expected her to open the battle wth a spell of some sort, and yet instead he saw her charging at him with her quarter staff, ready to strike. A head on attack, hmm? Ah, this is why I love letting my opponants attack first... As he thought this, he wasted no more time. Before True reached him, eh had very quickly channeled Aura into his body and his blade, allowing him to move faster and generally fight better than the average human. Of course, in his eyes it would be a shame to win too quickly, so he chose to hold back most of his Aura, for now at least. Seeing the attack coming, Darias raised his sword, Torhado, into a defensive position, and swung it to the left, setting aside True's first strike. Then, correctly guessing what would happen next, he followed the momentum of his blade and sidestepped left, quite easily evading True's vertical attack. Without wasting another second, Darias sprung to the counter attack. Spinning his sword in his right hand and bringing it into an offensive position, he aimed a very fast, precise stab at True's right side. Even if this inital attack was insuccessful, Darias would follow it up with a swift, wise horizontal swing aimed at True's waist. Description of "Torhado" This longsword has a slightly shorter blade than the Penetrator, and possesses a slightly curved end to it. Darias found this quite recently in a monster nest not far from his home, it was supposedly lost there for quite some time. It is light, but slightly heavier than the Penetrator. For reasons unknown (possibly due to magic infused into it) it does major damage to dragons, werewolves, vampires, demons, angels and similar beings. This is not to say it isn’t any good against humans, but against those creatures it is especially potent. It is made from a similar metal to the Penetrator (which suggests it is at least a thousand years old) but its origins are unknown. Unlike the Penetrator, it cannot cut through anything, but is very sharp and it can easily cut through most armor. It can also pierce most forms of magically created barriers rather effortlessly. Although it can be broken, it can reform itself in less than a second, even if it got blasted into millions of shards. It is excellent at parrying magic; this is due to an invisible anti-magic field surrounding it. Most magic that touches harmlessly collapses in on itself and vanishes from this plane of existence. This makes it a superb defensive and offensive weapon when combating mages. However, this anti-magic field does not effect the Aura of the user, and it can be powered up mid battle by Darias just like the Penetrator, however it is not quite as good offensively as the Penetrator, expect against the creatures mentioned above of course. True spun to the right around the staband she puts her hands in the normal position on her metal staff. She stabbed it into the ground and jumped as she moved so that her momentum was lunged around the staff and a kick was sent straight at Darius's right side of his stomach.
True landed in the stance with her hand on the ground and the other in the air. She was crouching and her legs were spread apart but she was still standing. She used this stance to send a huge kick with elemental magic attached to it. The kick was aimed right at his chin. Lightning attachment: effective most when wet only used with physical hand to hand combat attacks. with this attack 20,000 volts of electricty are attached to her attack making it powerful enough to send her opponent flying away from her. |
