| Genndy Tartakovsky, creator of Samurai Jack and Star Wars: Clone Wars, to direct THE POWER OF THE DARK CRYSTAL. For any of you children of the 80s, this is magic.
Production on the film will begin late this summer. According to a few sources, the film will still be done with puppets, but with CG backgrounds. I'm excited.  |

| After looking up the movie in Wikipedia, they mentioned that TokyoPop is going to come out with a manga based on the movie's fantasy world. Good or bad? *shrugs* Either way, I'm going to see this at the first opportunity.
Heh, I would say et's see them rip out a new Labyrinth, but NO ONE could possibly duplicate the one and only Ziggy Stardust. |

You mean that movie directed by Tim Burton that had the puppet style animation? is ACTUALLY coming out with a sequal? I...:: Blows nose :: Thats like a dream come true to me, I used to watch that movie sooo much when I was a little kid...I cant wait to hear more about it! |

Aha, I forgive you, it was an honest mistake... technically Jim Henson capitlized on his creations just as much as Tim Burton so their sort of equals... but Jim Henson didn't seem as obnoxious about it. But thats a whole other debate. Anyway... I love Jim Henson's (and his studio's) stuff. I'm so incredibly happy that they are sticking with the puppets instead of having CG characters. Jim Henson would be happy too. I trust Gennedy Tartakovsky with this too. I used to love all of his cartoons so much. It will really be a magical mix! But do you know how incredibly deep the story of the Dark Crystal is? Its almost insanity. I have a book all about everything in the world of the Dark Crystal, all the way from the creatures to how the world was created and who the first creatures were. ... and I like Tim Burton, so meh.

I LOVE it!!!!! Though some parts used to scare me actually when I was really little. And one part still scares the shit outta me every time I watch it. (Only cuz it's a jump out thingie.  ) |
