| I need to build a memorial shrine like thing. It needs to be small enough to fit
on my dresser in my room but big enough that I can light a candle in it without worrying about the whole thing catching on fire. Someone incredibly important to me was for all intents and purposes murdered and I can't move on with my life until I can do something to put her to rest. I don't even have a body to bury but I need to do SOMETHING. I have looked but I've been unable to find anything to help me build this little shrine. Any help that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. |

| You don't need a whole lot really. A picture or memento (something that reminds you of the person) and a candle are the bare basics needed. If you have more than one thing, that is great... some flowers or something... mainly you just need to clear off your desk. Can't do anything until you've accomplished that feat.

| Just rememberance of that person is really all you need to put that person to rest. Im sure that whoever was murdered was very dear to you, and im sure that s/he knows that s/he is on your mind constantly...
I would also recommend Elara's Idea, just a picture or a candle may suffice...either that or a medallion or a symbol that represented him... |

| I believe fully in spirits. Maybe not a god, but in my mind spirits exist. However, I won't go into that.
If I were you, think of the person, and how they'd want to be remembered. We all have our own individual path. Just be sure you can look at this memorial and remember them with ease, with the memorial doing it's best to remind you of their odd quirks and habits. The stranger it is, the easier you'll be able to recall memories and treasure them. Cause after all, we only die when we're forgotten. |

| I put it together last night. Probably one of the most difficult things I've ever done,
but I had some help which made everything possible. Didn't make it any easier but still. Thanks everyone that responded for the advice and suggestions. Someone can close this thread now. |
