Well, I'm back from my trip to Japan, and let me tell it was quite a trip. I saw and did some very interesting things while I was there. From March 24 to 26, I was in Tokyo. From the 27th to the 31st, I was in Osaka. On the 1st and 2nd, I was back in Tokyo, and on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th, I was in Narita about 20 minutes from the airport. I have about 70 pictures (I wanted to take more, but unfortunately, the camera I was using wasn't working that well) of different areas of where I was and will upload them on my website and some in here. But for right now, I just wanted to let you guys know where I was. So how is everything going here?

AH! I'm Jealous. I've only been Japan twice, but only for ten days each time. I also stayed in the same place and didn't see any of the big cities, aside from Kyoto.

How was Tokyo?

Don't worry, I'll get those pictures up soon enough, hehe. Tokyo was a lot of fun actually, it was interesting riding the subways -- especially around Asakusa and the Ueno area, that place is always the busiest. I'm amazed at how organized and clean that place is though.

Well, Tokyo and a lot of surrounding areas sure was well lit up at night -- especially around Tokyo Tower where you can also see the well lit-up ferris wheel from the top. Anyway, I uploaded 73 pics from my trip out of a total of 87 that I took. Some of them were too blurry, so I didn't bother with them. You can view them on my main site if you wish.

That is awesome VG, I'm glad you had a good time... hopefully I will get to go there someday.

So, did all your Japanese language studying pay off like you'd hoped, or did you still have a bit of trouble?

Yeah, actually it did come in handy a few times. When I first landed in Japan, I got lost a little bit trying to find my hotel, I had to ask a few people where some of the streets were. Ultimately, I just took a cab, and told him where I was going. I think some of the maps I got from the internet were wrong, because a couple of people were confused on a street name I gave them. If I had to go there again, I know where it is since I'm familiar with the subway lines now. There was also one day where I met a couple of Japanese friends and went to Osaka. I used my Japanese quite a bit then too.

Lucky you. I can't even afford to go to Japan. I wouldn't mind going becuase I'm working to learn Japanese. Could use the exposure to their culture. But I'm so rusty, I don't even remember most of my Spanish... *sigh*

I heard a decent slab of steak is like $50 over there.

For some odd reason, I felt obligated to mention that...Well, enough about speculation!

Sounds like you utilized your Japanese with fair ease.

VGFreak877, did you bring any sakes back for me? No?

I am actually eager to see those pictures because it sounded like you have a great time there... Did any Japanese do something crazy there? Did you see any porn commerial or were there any Japanese doing some crazy stunts?

You gotta tell us about it as soon as you upload the picture.

Sounds pretty awesome VG. Quite a culture shock maybe? Did the people respect you? (I hear Japan kind of neglects American's).

I'd love to go to Japan sometimes myself, but more mainly 'out' of the country someday.

Since I don't know any Japanese though, it probably would be a little harder to get around.
