| It could be for a number of reasons, but the fact that the lion went straight for him without hesitation is definitely a type of sign. Zoo animals are never so violent that they'd go straight for a person with intent on killing, most are afraid of people. It could have been that the guy had some sort of doubt in his mind, like when Peter went to meet Jesus walking on the water. Also, the people who witness and perform miracles like that happen to be the ones who pray the most, so this poor sap must have been unprepared in some way. I think this comes pretty close to a Darwin award.
Hmm, another thought, saying "God will save me" may not mean "God will save my life". The guy could have actually went to heaven, but this isn't too likely. |
