It is Kept Civilized dude. Your the one taking offence, I can quote....One, Two, Three, alot of things on your attacks towords me! But I choose not to take offence because im not getting offended by your sence of logical beliefs.

Im not going to read every single damn thing you said....but one thing did catch my eye...and it made me LAWL out of my seat.

Actually, if it's genetic - that is, they're born that way - they don't really have much of a choice. Still, being born that way is an explanation by itself, so other than that little detail I can't really argue.

Prove it

You again lack explanation here, Sajin. Why do you believe that some choose to be?

How....Freaking....hard....is it to understand that Gay people can choose to stay Gay, or turn a new leaf? ^^

Wow, getting angry are we? Again, how hard is it to understand that when gay people are forced to be gay on them, they have a choice to stay gay, or if its not in their beliefs to be not gay, do something about it? Doing something, pertaining maybe choosing to talk to the people forcing gay relations with them....or whatever.

Arguing about beliefs is exactly what this forum is for, Sajin, so long as it is kept civilized.

So.....I am keeping it civilized dude.....Your the one saying that im ignorant on the subject, telling me to admit I have ignorance on the subject when you yourself have yet to explain how the mind works.. *Picks nose*

Check please?

I would like to hold off on the arguing pointless buffet. I am quite full of this.

Accept it or not. They....have.....a.....choice....<<<< THIS IS SAJIN'S ANSWER

Please....*Gets on knees* Just accept that as my answer and please move on in life.....rather you understand me or not....just please....stop

What personal attacks? When I called you ignorant? Hey, surprise, we all are! No one knows everything, we're all... I went over that earlier.

While I can't technically prove it, I'm not asking for proof from you, I'm asking for a reason behind your belief. Therefore, I'll approach this as you asking the same.

People born retarded can't choose to change. Born black? Can't change that purely by choice (perhaps medically possible, but we're discussing choice here, not surgery). Born a midget? You can't just wake up and think "hey, I want to be taller" and magically grow to a normal height. So all these things tied, as far as I know, to genetics that can't be changed by choice... why would another thing caused by genetics be different?

"understand" implies that a choice exists and is a fact, which has not been determined.

This is assuming that it is a choice, which is the matter we're debating. You cannot prove something true using the unproven matter that is being discussed, Sajin.

Your the one saying that im ignorant on the subject, telling me to admit I have ignorance on the subject when you yourself have yet to explain how the mind works..

I do not have to explain how the mind works, and I don't expect you to. All I expect is for you to explain the reasoning behind your beliefs.

Sajin, this is pointless. Not because I'm not changing your mind, but because there's no discussion here.

[01:46] Xeogred: basically why I tend to stay out of forums like that and Sunset
[01:47] Xeogred: no matter what, people are going to have their opinions that you can't change no matter what, it seems worthless to even try in my opinion (at times)
[01:47] BlademageCheveyo: but the thing is
[01:47] BlademageCheveyo: even if you can't change them
[01:47] BlademageCheveyo: if people would just be more rational, at least some interesting discussion would come of it
[01:47] BlademageCheveyo: and that's all I'm after.

Sajin, you seem to not understand the purpose of a debate forum. And so you complain when we debate things, refusing to actually contribute.

Ah well. Maybe Vulkar will show up to defend you. I might get some actual discussion out of him.

Even though you guys are way off topic now:

Thexare Blademoon, I love you for having a brain.

He is right, though, Sajin. This is the debate forum. The purpose of this is to present your side and back it up. Not wuss out and act like a girl and use your illogical, invalid arguments. My purpose for asking you to counter was to enter a civilized argument, i.e. a debate. That's what debates are: civilized arguments; attempting to persuade people to your view by backing up your views.

You haven't backed up a damned thing. And even when you correct yourself, you're still wrong.

Yes, there is no right or wrong, but if I had to side with someone (besides myself), I'd follow Thexare Blademoon because he at least knows how to argue.

Also, kids don't choose to go to school. They are forced by state laws and parents to go to school. And, I didn't choose to be gay. I wasn't raised gay. My family doesn't like that I'm gay, but they tolerate it. Yes, I find women attractive, but I'm not sexually attracted to them.

I find the male body attractive, but I don't want to pound anything with a penis. I actually like the personality and brain more than the physical body. But, I am attracted to men. It doesn't affect the rest of my life. If I did have a choice, I wouldn't choose a lifestyle that automatically persecutes me because we are a large society of religion-based brainwashing. But, the truth of the matter is that I don't have a choice. I have a choice on how open I decide to be with it, but I can't change who I am.

Zabuza, two things. One, Sajin's now forumbanned. Two, I think you meant you're not sexually attracted to women (that is, left out a word)

Thank you for catching my occasional leaving-out-a-word thing. While Sajin fails to understand the concept of a debate...what were we arguing about? I just introduced a thought, and was hoping to get something concrete...so far it's just been you and Sajin debating (if you can call it that) over the lack of logic in his reasoning.

okay, ive got alot to say, since this thread has grown two pages overnight....

first of all saijin (even though you cant post, mayb ur still reading) choosing sexuality is nothing like choosing religion

second, and this is something that has been bugging me for a while...
you fall in love with somebody for their personality, not whether they have a penis. so why should sex even matter?

third- gaydar. how does that work? can all gay ppl really tell if someone is gay?

Although you can choose to kiss or have intercourse with someone of the same sex, it's not possible to choose if you feel comfortable doing it or not like it fits.

To say that someone can choose their sexuality is like saying a person can choose the color of the skin they were born with. Sure, you can try to train yourself to not be gay or straight or whatever, but would that really be remaining true to yourself? You can bleach your skin, but you're still black.

I've had family friends who have remained unhappy in marital bonds that they truly don't want to be in because they were afraid to come out of the closet for so many years.

Being gay isn't a choice. Experimentation is. Coming out is--That is unless you were in a position where these weren't choices.

People just don't wake up, look in the mirror and say, "Self, I think from now on we're going to be gay, just for shits. Hell, I can quit any time I want."

But then there is that long list of people who say they're bi, just because it's trendy.

All right, I'm rambling.

2 things--

first, i hate bi people. just because i feel that guys who are bi, are just doing it so they can get the advantages of being gay (because you have to admit, there are some) while still being able to date girls.

second, i found the perfect disproof for sajin. Fear. you don't choose to be afraid of something, its just part of your personality. just like being gay or straight.

My gaydar doesn't work. Disneyland broke it. So, I can't tell unless their exhibiting signs of flaminess. And, even then, some of the most flamey people at Disneyland turned out to be straight and married, so that's why my gaydar is broken.

It's true that it's not a choice. I may have chosen to stop hiding it and selectively come out, but I didn't choose to be gay. I can't just turn it on or off like an emotion; and I do admit that I'm more attracted to the person than the anatomy in their pants. It's just that the people I'm attracted happen to be men. Sometimes, women. But women are never in a sexual fashion.

Yes, I can. I can turn them on and off at will. Mostly after years of conditioning and training. It doesn't mean their gone, it just means they aren't being shown at the time that my body would like them to be shown.

It always baffles me when people say they don't believe in bisexuality, yet they believe in homosexuality, heterosexuality, and asexuality. How the idea of being attracted to both genders is rejected by many in gay and straight community is beyond me. I agree that it can be used as a front for not coming out all the way. One of my best friends is like that. But two of my other friends are without a doubt bi and have no fear of letting the world know.

A true bisexual person is one who is attracted to the person, not because of their being any paricular sex, but because of who the person is and so on.

Where I used to work, I was surrounded by people who'd say they were bi because it was cool to say that. They might kiss someone of the same sex, but really that means nothing, unless it's truly something that makes you feel something. And often enough it was someone trying to get their significant other off by saying or doing these things (example: Two girls making out because they want to turn on all the guys and try to make them interested in them). Yes, it's a very shallow reason, but I saw it all the friggin' time.

I concur. Bisexuality has become some sort of fad. The whole 'I make out with other chicks, therefore I am Bi' philosophy gets on my nerves.

I know several guys that are like that too. They're like "Chicks dig bi guys." So....you're pretending to like boys to get girls. That hardly makes sense.

thats like i said, they are trying to get the advantages of being gay. The advantages, that ironically, gay men don't need...because their gay. Its the whole, he's a great guy, if only he wasnt gay. But bisexual people arent....you get what i mean?
