It was an utter catastrophie. Bodies were strewn everywhere, as Kevin and Francine made their way over the mounds of corpses, over the bodies of the dead. As he made his way past the totally destroied library, he heard voices, and ran towards them. Francine heard them too, and she kept pace with him.

*He hasn't said a word the whole trip over here.... This can't be good...* Francine thought to herself.

Finally, after searching through the wreckage, he came across the body of Aldis, as she lay on her back, staring up into oblivion. WIthout a word, just a shocked expression, he knelt down next to her, and Francine gasped at the sight.

"Ohmygod, no! What.... Who could've done this!? Why would anyone want to kill Aldis, of all people?"

Kevin closed her eyes, then closed his.

"She was probably a hostage. We need to find the others, right now." Francine nodded in agreement. Together, the headed towards the voices, as they became louder and more distinct, and soon, Ted could be seen, next to a kneeling Morrighan and a collapsed Dalit, next to the body of the intrepid man, the selfless hero of the 369, James Katsuyori. Kevin beheld the sight, and his lip quivered. He jogged, then ran next to him, without even noticing the stammering Harrisson beside him

Francine caught the sight, and gasped, bringing her hands up to her mouth, as tears welled up in her vermillion eyes. She could still remember the time in the library, just weeks ago, that the old man stroked her fur while she recuperated, and she could barely believe this to be real. *So, this is what Kevin heard.... This is sick....*

Kevin only noticed Morrighan and Ted looking dead at Harrisson, and with that, Kevin got up, and his look of sadness was replaced with that of hatred. Harrisson fell back over on his ass as Kevin stood up in front of him.

"No! W-wait! It was all an accident! I didn't, I mean... I was trying-"

His words were cut off by Kevin's combat boot kicking him square in the jaw, sending him reeling. Kevin's face was that of disgust, pure hatred, and contempt. He then ran up to Harrission, pulled out his .357 pistol, and shoved the barrel into Harrisson's right eye, blinding him in that eye.

"You killed them!! You killed our men, you killed Aldis, and you killed my own father! Now, you are also going to die!"

Harrisson tried to scream and beg for mercy, but no words came out. The last sound he heard was the blast of a bullet going into his brain, and Francine had to wince. Her fiancee's act of violence perturbed her a bit, but given the circumstances, she felt as though it was justified, and let it drop, as she bowed her head, and wiped the tears from her eyes. Kevin picked himself up, and holstered his gun, as he madde his way over to his wife-to-be, and hugged her tightly, as he sobbed on her shoulder.

"I got no one left but you now. They're all gone, Fran; Mom, Jake, and now Dad... I... I just..."

"Shhh... It's alright. We're all here for you," she spoke to him, reassuring him. "I love you, Kevin. I'll be here now, and always."

((Um, just for the record, I was standing not knealing))

*Morrighan was stunned by her son's actions, but she did not move. When he collapsed she hesitated, unsure of if she should go to him first or kill Harrison, but Kevin's entrance made her decision for her. As the bullet rang out Morrighan was scooping Dalit up and wiping the blood from his mouth and the tears from his eyes*

"My poor baby... what a horrible thing to put you through. It's over now, I hope...."

*She looked over at Kevin and Francine. She felt a pang of sadness at his loss, along with a twinge of bitterness that he got the kill on that bastard, but she knew such a feeling was petty*

"I'm sorry there was nothing I could do to save him, Kevin. He saved us though, gave me the chance to break free. I just wish I could have got an answer from the bastard before he died."

Eidos looked up at the dawn sky as he sat underneath the tree where Jack lay unconcious. Kiera also sat underneath it, and the three Wiccans watched as the sun rose from the mountainside, warming up the bitter wintry land. Chaos and Xeios were within earshot, but Eidos wasn't really talking to anyone.

"I remember...as a child, I remember my family being murdered in front of me. It was horrific, and it scarred me for life. I was alone, and because I was a Wiccan, at the time, no one would take me in. So I was placed in an orphanage for Wiccans, where we lived in substandard conditions and constant discrimination. It's where I met Jack, the Lion, and the other members of the 5. Urashi was Jack's uncle, that much I remember, and he always cheered us up on the Winter Solstice or whenever it seemed we had little hope ahead for us...
We all realized at a young age that the Government was a corrupt, racist, bastard of a dictatorship, and no one seemed to want to do anything. One day, Jack decided he'd seen enough strife. He went into the high class ritzy side of the city on a cold winter's day like this, and he tried to protest. He was 11, and he got arrested for it! We had our childish concoctions of rescuing him, but we were children, and Urashi couldn't compromise himself at such a distinct time.
Jack, the little bugger, freed himself. In a rage he led a group of unjustly imprisoned inmates out using the bloody magic he had just made up as he went along. He came back to the orphanage, and he was glowing! His body was overflowing with mana at 11! The head of the orphanage saw this and instantly contacted the Council, and they tried to take him from us. But he told them to fuck off unless we could come, too."

Eidos laughed hard, putting his head down. His head was full of nostalgia and the fact the Government was officialy put in it's place shook his whole standpoint. Tears began to form in his eyes,.

"We were nothing to anyone until the Council noticed us. They decided we had more potiential than any other living Wiccans in existance! They gave us a life, a purpose, and like little soldiers I suppose we became possesed by their wishes...I hope we did the right thing. In retrospect, I don't think any of us have viewed the repurcussions of our actions.
With this, we could be causing famines and a lot more conflicts as balance is sought. We have an age of unrest before us...but then again, no more opression. Maybe, maybe we can see to it this new age is one of equality and peace...But are we really going to lead it? Do we have the capability to safekeep the tranquility of a nation's people?"

Kiera looked over at Eidos as he spoke, her face becoming more and more illuminated by the rising sun. When she finished, she spoke up with a tone of complete conviction but also, one that harbored happiness.

"Look at all of us. We've all gone through enough personal loss to change our mentalities. We all know the deep, irreperable pain of those close to us dying for the idealogy of peace or justice, or to die protecting it...Even now, bodies lay on the ground, bodies who had once bore souls that wished for nothing more but for the fighting to stop...
I think we're the best to take up the mandate of the country. With all the depression saddled up on us, we know the plight of all the spectrums of the people. With us knowing true sadness, we can do whatever we have the power to do to instill a better society for all. Sure we've lost a lot, but now is the time we can rebuild, come to terms with the past, and make amends. If we keep ourselves grounded long enough I'm sure we have done the right thing..."

She placed her head on Jack's shoulder and took a deep breath in. It was over...

OOC: Now, I suppose it's time we moved onto the Epilouge. I think we should skip ahead 3 weeks, tie up the loose ends, and finally have the conclusion of IG. Anyone in disagreement, PM me. Otherwise, I feel it'll keep the flow going.

3 Weeks Later...

Jack's eyes stirred and he awoke to the sounds of hammers pounding. He found himself in a 369 hospital bed, wearing a pure white hospital gown and having a tube stuck in his arm. He pulled it out quickly and sat up, looking around the room. The air was significantly warmer than what he remembered. He walked slowly over to the other side of the room and grabbed his clothes off a chair. He got changed into them quickly, and walked outside, feeling the warm bath of the sun. He looked around to see a lot of workers repairing the building. Jack remembered Morrighan went to fight the battle here...This left Jack to assume his front had been successful.

"How long have I been out?"

Jack walked to the left side of the mansion to be greeted by a sea of flowers...It was a beautiful sight, but 4 slabs of stone in front of him pulled at his heart. He walked slowly up to them, reading the inscriprions.

"Rest in Peace, Professor Urashi...."

Reading that, Jack remembered the pain he had felt when Urashi had perished, and he remembered his uncle's devotion to the new age.

"Rest in Peace, Deux..."

Jack remembered his failure and Deux's death because of it. Jack's content slowly began to slip away...

"Rest in Peace, James Katosyuri..."

Jack was filled with sorrow...Kevin's father had died in the battle....His mind began to reel...

"Rest...in Peace...Ald..."

Jack's eyes teared up faster than he could physically imagine. He became sick to his stomach, tears pouring down his eyes...His sister was dead. He had lost her before, but she had been alive, and returned to him...

"No...NO! NO. NO. NO!!! ALDIS CAN'T BE DEAD!! NOO!!!"

Jack began crying loudly, gathering the attention of anyone outside. He was screaming, the pain was intense...He had thought there would be happiness with the death of the Government. They had dealt him one last final blow, one that now consumed every bit of him.

"WHY ALDIS?!!! WHYYY?!"

Jack 's hands were now covering his face, and he continued to cry. He thought he had come to term with his failures, but because of his inability to destroy the Chimera without succumbing to a coma, he had lost his beloved sister...

"...Why?!...I WAS THE ONE WHO SHOULD HAVE DIED!!"

OOC: Okay...Imma skip to the epilogue as well. Since it feels like a year has passed, Dalit's now about 6 years old.

BIC: Dalit had been standing behind the stone that had Aldis' inscription on it. He turned to look and see Jack crying in front of the stone. The boy dared not move, waiting for Jack to finish his sobbing. But the man just continued. Finally, the youngster moved out of his hiding spot and towards Jack. There was something about this man that made him feel at home, something that made him feel like there wasn't anything wrong with the world.

"I don't think you should cry..."

The words tumbled out of his mouth before he could stop them. Dalit had spent the first week after the battle crying on his mother's shoulder; he knew that it wouldn't fix anything.

"I know Aldis is gone,"

He started as he sat down next to Jack, facing the stone.

"But...she's alright where she's at. And besides..."

Tears no longer weld in his eyes when he looked at the stone, instead, a bit of happiness lept inside of him. Suddenly, he remembered why the man made him think of home.

"Aldis was your sister, wasn't she? If it makes you feel better...Aldis loved you very much."

Then an angry expression came across his face. It was one of Dalit's many mood swings that had been present since the death of Aldis. Once again, he couldn't stop the words from vomiting out of his mouth.

"Stop crying! Aldis hates people that cry! She would call you a baby and laugh at you!"

Jack was in a dark state of mind when he heard Dalit speak up, and he stopped instantly. His depression shattered when he rembered the little boy was his cousin, technically. Jack stared at the gravestone of Aldis, his mind still reeling. He had just seen her in front of him...but he could tell Aldis had died to protect Dalit...He stood up, wiping his eyes. His eyes were still red from the tears, but he had a weak smile on his face.

"You're right. I forgot she did."

He focused himself and smiled at Dalit, remembering the teachings Urashi had bestowed upon him. Death was nothing but the next step. She was never truly gone. He had experienced it 3 weeks earlier. He laughed a little as he sat down again next to Dalit,

"So, Dalit. Have any idea where the rest of the group is? I think I'd like to speak to your mom for a bit."

Though Jack had been in tears just a moment ago, Dalit's childish encouragement had been just what he needed. He looked at the grave stone and smiled, knowing she could take care of herself.

Dalit blinked back into his regular state of mind. He cocked his head to the side, thinking hard about where his mother could be.

"I think she's...oh wait! I know! She's probably back in her room! I can take you to her, but I dunno is she really wants to talk to anyone right now."

He stood up, waiting for Jack to stand and follow his lead. A smile painted his whole face, lighting it up.

The weeks of repair to the compound seemed like months, with Kevin tirelessly working with the rest of the able-bodied men and women of the 369 to rebuild what was lost. As he wiped the sweat from his brow, he noticed Francine coming up behind him with a cold glass of lemonade.

"Don't overwork yourself, Kevin. The place'll be repaired in no time."

He smiled at her positive outlook as he took the glass from her hand, and drank down its contents He tried so hard to put the memories of all his losses behind him, and it was beginning to show on his weary face. He somehow seemed more aged, if not in his appearance, then most definately in his persona. Kevin was no longer the idealistic youth, hell-bent with glory and pride.

"Thank you. That was nice."

Not even a few seconds later, he could hear the sound of Jack's hysteria not far away.

"...Sounds like he found Aldis' grave. I gotta talk to him, Francine. I'll be back," he said as he handed the glass to her, as she nodded.

He came up beside his friend, and put his hand on his shoulder.

"...I'm sorry this had to happen. Well, this is the price we pay. Might as well thank God while we can for fiorgiving us for screwing with the double-edged sword like we did, huh?"

He patted Jack on the back.

"No one could possibly know the hell we went through We're the victims. Only the victims of violence can totally describe its essence. If you need time, that's cool. If you wanna talk, I can do that, too."

"Nah, Dalit here showed me depression isn't the way to look at it. I've been doing something wrong this whole time. I think it's time I start cheering up. But I have one thing left to do before I can completly be at peace...I still have to be best man at your wedding."

Jack stood up, looking at his clothing. He wore a black t-shirt folded in to his black jeans. He no longer wore the trenchcoat, and he looked down at his hands.

"Dalit, later...I have to repay the favor and make you as strong physically as you are mentally."

He turned around at Kevin and smiled. For the first time in ages, his face was carefree. He put his hand on Kevin's shoulder.

"We have a wedding to plan, a mansion to rebuild, and a new government to create. We can weep when we're dead."

*Morrighan wandered from her room to go find Dalit. She knew where he was, hiding near Aldis's grave... she'd done her best to comfort him, but she felt like she had failed him again. As she neared the door outside she heard Jack's wails of lament and knew that he was awake and had found his sister's grave. She stood in the shadow of the door and watched for a moment, not wanting to interrupt... then held her breath as she listened to Dalit's little speech. His smile warmed her heart, making her feel like perhaps she had not failed him after all. She walked up to them and Kevin, looking at Dalit*

"There you are, Dalit! I see you've found Jack."

*She glanced at the grave and then at Jack*

"My condolances by the way, but it seems that Dalit has helped you deal with that rather well. And don't forget, before the wedding we have a birthday to plan, Dalit turns six next month!"

*She knealt down and looked at her son with a smile*

"Which is why I was looking for you, I need you to tell me what you want to do for your birthday. Anything you want, I have five years to make up for."

Kevin smiled to Jack. "Well, one of those is done."

With that, he turned around to Francine, who happened to be behind him the whole time, beeming.

"You may wanna write few words down now, actually," he said, as he took out the com-link in his pocket, and switched it to PA mode. He spoke clearly and distinctly into it.

"Attention all 369 officers; report immediately to the rear courtyard please, and be seated. Thank you." He pocketed the device, and looked at Morrighan, and motioned to her with a nod for her and Dalit to go to the rear with everyone else.

"Jack, don't worry about getting dressed up. Just be sure to get the camera out of the R&D Lab, please. Francine? Let's go get ready."

She nodded, and followed him inside.

Dalit gave Jack the most confused face any five-year-old could muster. He had no idea what he meant by "I'll make you as strong physically as you are mentally", but at least it sounded good. When his mother walked over to where they were standing, his facial expression changed completely. He gave her a wide smile. The smile faded as he heard what she said.

He cocked his head to the side again and asked,

Chaos' Epilouge : The field was behind him, as he sat on the grassy hill leading downward. His back against a stone, and rest under a nearby tree full of pine, but also a twist of oak in the mutated tree.
A small chuckle irrupted from Chaos' lips as he closed his eyes, the shade keeping him cool. In the three weeks, he had seperated from the soul of the Master, and he was revived. Not long after, he revived, and took control of the Aren house. A week later, Chaos left the house, back to his wondering life of the road, and tourment of others... Just the way he liked it.

Naturaly, his insanity came back, but it was a more controled instanity. Something he could enjoy to a larger extent.

For once in his life, he could safely say, he didn't know what happened when he left. He managed to block the sounds of the shadows, and ultimately, muted the sounds of the world, cutting his connection off. And he enjoyed it.

His face twisted slightly as he cracked an eye open at the sun... The irony of a vampire in the sun...?

"Heh... Should of destroyed that damn sun when I had the chance."

*Morrighan took Dalit's hand and led Dalit towards the rear of the massing amount of people, as they walked she explained*

"A birthday is the anniversary of the day you were born, it lets you know how old you are. Usually a birthday is a cause for celebration, like a party. You can have cake and games, a rubber structure that you can bounce around in, magicians, clowns, lots of things... and you get presents from your friends and family. Or it can be as simple as cake, ice cream, and a few gifts... depending on what you like. I had a feeling that they never properly celebrated your birthday in that place, so I want to give you the best birthday ever. So you think about all that and tell me what you would like to do."

Dalit's eyes widened and a smile popped onto his face.

"I want you and everyone else to be there. As long as everyone's there I'll be happy!"

The little boy stopped in the middle of the hallway. His eyes averted from his mother to the ground as he just stood. Their hands broke apart, and suddenly he seemed to regress back into his depressed state.

"I know, baby... I wish she could be too. But she will be there in spirit, I'm sure of it. Don't be sad, Dalit, Aldis wouldn't like it if you were sad because of her. Dalit gave a bit of a sigh. The boy made no effort to hug his mom back. He wasn't happy, but he wasn't necissarily sad either. The emotion was something of an in-between. He knew that Aldis wouldn't like him crying (and he didn't like crying either) but he didn't want to smile. And when he smiled to his mom, he always felt guilty afterwards. Like he was telling her a lie just so she wouldn't bother him.

He looked up into his mother's green eyes. They were like comforting, calming pools of deep emerald. For a moment, he forgot exactly what it was his troubles were and felt at peace. Dalit wrapped his arms around his mom and hugged her as tightly as he could.

The little boy began to cry, but these tears were different. Dalit's face was painted with a large grin,.and there was no lie behind this one.

His head was burried in his mom's breast as he told her through muffled sobs,

"I love you...."

Jack walked through the decorated hallway of the mansion. Since he'd slept, they replaced the battle wounds of the mansion with lavish decorations. This place would be remembered as a major battle point in the war, as well as more than likely the capital. This hallway disorted his memories as the one concrete wall was now the home of some stained glass. He turned around and stared down the hallway, the past and present clashing in his eyes. He saw Kiera walking towards him in a quick walk, and she was unchanged in both of the alternating visions. The world around him returned to normal as Kiera came closer, and before Jack could speak, Kiera hugged him as hard as she could. Tears were coming down her face.

"I want you to promise me, you'll never put yourself that close to death again." As she said that, she pulled her head back and looked at him in the eyes. Jack was momentarily lost in them, a smile slowly growing on his face. She was clearly upset, meaning she'd escaped the shell of gruffness she used to wear for all the world to see.

"I like the idea of it, love, but I doubt my luck'll play out that way." They both laughed and smiled, the toil the two of them had suffered before completly gone from their mind. In a flash they were kissing each other's lips, and Jack's sorrow was completly lifted. His love was returned, his revenge complete. With stunning clarity, Jack knew, life was kind to those who cared.

Xeios sat smiling upon a tall tree. He was balanced on the very tip of three perfectly, almost as if he were levitating in place. His gleaming yellow eyes scanned the area, and though he han no direct connection to destroying the beast, he felt a sense of worth. He was by his will and with the help of Jack, released from the slavery that was the Chimaera. Weakening it greatly, and it is quite possible that there would be no victory without this fact. He laughed heartily and floated into the night sky, His clothing was still old and battered, and his elegance had dissolved over the few month's time but he cared not.

"Bring on the Dark side of the Moon."

He moved from a levitation to a full on flight and spun around the moon to the darkest part of the moon, and dug himself in a crater, and awaited the morning light, and his own self-destruction.

OOC: Because something needs to be done.

BIC:
Over the network intercom, a man's voice could be heard. A gentle, aged voice. The voice of the Father.
Would all participating members who are willing to come to witness the marriage of Kevin Katsuyroi and Francine Ullric, please come to the rear courtyard?
There, in the back of the courtyard underneath a trellace, the Father stood in his robes, with his arm in a sling, and a medical patch over his left eye. He was wounded in battle and had to withdraw.

Kevin was getting ready. His black tuxedo donned, he combed his hair back, and it looked good on him, instead of his usual disshevelled do. His heart raced in his chest. He wanted so badly to see Francine, and everyone's faces at the ceremeony. He sighed deeply, and rubbed his hands together.
"Dad... I wish you were here."

In another part of the complex, several women, secretaries, were getting Francine ready as well. Her ceremonial lycanthropan gown was a perfect fit, and still had an immaculate white luster. Her hair was done up in an elaborate bun, and as she stared in the mirror with her yellow eyes, she smiled to herself, as she held the bouquet of white roses in her soft hands. The two had been through some turmoltuous times, but in the end, she knew everything would be copacetic.
"Francine, you look beautiful. Kevin will love it," one of the secretaries stated, smiling.

The Father smiled to himself. The scene was set, and the die was cast. Now he just needed an audience. He looked over to see Dalit with his mother, and an idea came to his head. He slowly walked over to them, and greeted the mother nad her child.
"Good evening, Miss Delarease. May I borrow Dalit for a moment? We need a ring bearer," he stated with a smile as he pulled the two golden rings from his pocket.
