Lesson: When its a left turn on Yield, and you can't see. Don't go.

I'm still shaken by this. Nothing like this has ever happened in my life. I'm fine, and for the most part my friends are fine except that the person driving may have broken his wrist.

Basically, we were driving down a road and the opposite side of us had a left turn on Yield on. A big red van pulled out in front of us, my friend had to brake and honked his horns at him. The next thing I saw, was a gray Escape pulling out in front of us and it was impossible to go by.

We hit, and the force caused our car to go off track and we popped a curb running into a huge electrical pull, which did most of the damage. The next thing I know, is I'm seeing gas pour into the car and I smell something horrible.

My friends and I were alright, we all got out. My friends car is definitely probably done for. I saw tons of radiator fluid pouring out of it, the entire hood has broken out and his driver side wheel is off track.

Right now I'm entirely at a loss here. I can't even think. I couldn't think when this happened. I didn't even remember us hitting the pole. It all happened, instantly. Thank god my two friends and I all had our seatbelts on. I'm still feeling a great deal of pain in my upper back and neck though, and I am getting a terrible headache. I also bit my lip pretty well.

I don't really know what to say or think. It was weird when this happened and still is when it did. The music stopped, everything around me became mute ...

I'm just thankful to be alive and my friends.

lol...definitely probably done for

but yeah, car wrecks happen. One thing you should take away from this is to never repeat what happened today. Oh yeah, it should also tell you that no matter how careful you are, shit like this still happens.

well, at least you and your friends are breathing and ok. you can't really ask for more than that.

I was in a car accident twice. You don't see me bragging about it. I've been in clear air turbulence on a plane. I've seen a plane crash land. I've even watched a man get accidentally run over.

Glad you're okay.

OH YEAH?! I'VE BEEN IN... IN 4 CAR CRASHES, YEAH!! And I saw TWO men get run over by cars... and... and... and yeah! And I saw TWO planes crash land!! And I've been in clear air turbulance on a plane 3 WHOLE TIMES!!

My my... isn't it just so satisfying to be able to one-up someone's misery?

Xeo, car accidents are some of the most god awful things that can happen to people, and if you do happen to get in one it really makes you very concious of the fact that you're not immortal, which is kind of a shitty feeling. I felt the same way you do when I got into my car accident. Its a pain in the ass on every level. I'm glad to hear you got out fine.

Sparda: Yeah, well I wasn't driving. but like I said, when its a left turn on Yield and you "can't" see, don't risk it and go ... lesson for me.

Zabuza: I really honestly hope you didn't think I was bragging here.

Shred: Yeah. I can agree with the feeling I got. I think I'm just going through some whiplash here. Feeling dizzy and stuff.

You were also hit by a car, cut your arm while shaving, fallen out of trees, and various other painful events that I can't remember at the moment.

Xeo, you're going to feel a lot of pain most likely in the next few days due to the adrenaline and the common symtoms of such an accident start to show up soon. Take some pain relievers, relax for the next few days and you'll be fine.

Xeo here is better advice ~ if you can't see, don't drive. Otherwise you're driving into the unknown where you are not prepared for anything.

They failed again.

Er.....

Still a good thing you're somewhat okay.

But as Hobo said, you're gonna feel it.

Not good.

Yeah, it was just annoying when the other driver / vehicle came out almost making a joke out of this. He just told Matt (my friend driving) "Heh, man I just didn't see you guys!" (in that kind of tone and character and everything).

Then later he says
Guy: "Good thing I wasn't in my other vehicle".
Matt: "What's that?"
Guy: "A Ford F250".

I was speechless when he said that. Just the way he said it everything amazed me. I mean, I know its not bad to look at the situation as he may have ... but still it just annoyed me.

Yeah it wasnt cool of him to joke about if he had his other car. But if it was the f-250 it woulda been a lot worse for you guys. guess theres a bright side.

I didn't, Xeo, I'm just being lame.

But, glad that you're okay enough to post about it. My friend was in a nasty car accident on the freeway just two days ago, and he's somewhat okay. Has to go through physical therapy, but his friend's car was totalled.

And, as far as the plane crash landings go...I was working at the airport when both the JetBlue crash landing occurred and the Air India emergency landing, as well as the minor crash on the runway between a Delta and an American jet.

I broke my nose in a car accident when I was 13. It was not fun. I broke the backseat window in the process. Other than that I've only been hit by cars on foot.

Glad you're okay, Xeo. IT's a very trippy thing to look at how bad it really could have been.

That has to suck. I have been in only one car wreck and luckily it happened about 10 feet from my house, but that wasn't cool for him to joke about to whole scenario.

**huggles** Holy shit...well, like everyone else has said, glad that you and your friends are okay. Good thing you weren't driving either. That may have REALLY shaken you up...so...lemme know how the driver was doing soon as you can get back on here.

You did go to the hospital too, right? Even if it was all just minor injuries, you still never know. I've never been in a car accident persay, but hockey...instead of going to the hospital after a few incidents, I just went home or kept playing, depended, and sometimes the injuries wouldn't crop up 'til much later...

Damn, I'm really getting it today. It doesn't help that my parents went out of town until Monday night, I think I really need to see a chiropractic or something.

I got up this morning, thinking I could go to work today. First off, I got about 5 hours of sleep last night because my ribs were really sore, and it hurt to turn when I was in bed. My managers knew the situation, so they let me take it real easy. But then out of nowhere, around 1:00 PM I got an incredibly bad headache. So bad I felt like my blood sugar was low and felt like I could pass out at any minute (my blood sugar was low one day and I felt terrible, only happened to me once though). I told my manager I absolutely had to go home.

I'm really struggling to type this up. I don't know if I'm having a mindgrain, or what but this is one of the worst headaches I've ever had in my life.

When I got home I took a long warm bath and felt pretty good, until I stood up to get out of the bath. Since then I've been sleeping (almost 7 now). I just tried to eat dinner, but couldn't eat at all. I just wasted a frozen dinner, I could barely put down a few bites.

I don't know what happened, I just got this horrible headache and pain out of nowhere.

You really should see a doctor. Were there no paramedics at the scene of the accident or anything? You might have bruised ribs from the seat belt if they are still that sore, as for the headache, I don't know but you should check it out.

That guy was a jerk to joke about it like that, but it was probably his way of staying calm. He probably won't be laughing to much once he hears from his insurance though, since he was at fault.

I'm glad that you are seemingly okay, but you should still go find out about that headache.

It looks like I'm just taking pain killers for now. My parents went out of state to pickup my sister and hang out with old friends, they'll be gone until Monday night.

I feel so sick, and I'm so dizzy I know I should not even attempt driving myself to a hospital or anything.

I have no idea what would be wrong with me, but this is seriously bad. I'm even having a hard time catching my own breath.

I'm sure I can wait until my parents are here, but this is weird and not good.

Is there no friend that can take you, a neighbor even? If you are having trouble breathing you should go as soon as possible.

Hmm, the breathing seems to be fine now. Maybe I just exagerated a bit, and easy loss of energy made me think of that. However I did wiki whiplash and noticed that some people end up having a hard time swallowing, that's definitely true. I haven't had a real meal since Saturday morning.

After probably 20-30 hours of sleep though, and another long warm bath I'm starting to feel better. I'm kind of forcing myself to stay up, so I can get back some energy.

I think I just may have gotten a flu or something though. I mean, its hardly my muscles and body being sore now, just a tremendous headache. Thursday night I had a tiny headache (I mean nothing compared to now), Friday my back was sore, Saturday up until the evening my legs were sore, and now its just really been this terrible headache.

Stomach still bothers me too, and the swallowing or something. My dinner was half a thing of pudding. I just can't eat.

But oh well. Thanks for the positive feedback guys. I'm definitely doing somewhat better now, I'm at least feeling alive ...

I took today and tommorow off of work though, and then I don't go back until Friday ... so I should be good if I need more rest.
