Yeah, I won't lie this is for a class.

Basically, I need suggestions on maybe at least 20 good questions to ask someone for an interview, and then speech. I just need ideas, and suggestions. I've got a basic idea of what I'd like to ask, but just thought I'd ask for help too. Aye?

  • What would you say has been your defining moment?

  • What would your worst enemy say is your best trait (Ex: "He's a jerk, but he's really organized")?

  • What would your best friend say is your worst trait?

  • What's something you wouldn't want your parents to know about you?


    • Often times the best answers you'll ever get from people are when you don't even ask a question. Say things like, "Tell me about..." or "Let's hear more about..."

    Seriously when you do that, they don't feel so constrained by the question.

    Example:
    How're your parents?
    They're okay.

    Tell me about your home life.
    Oh it's all right. My parents are divorced and they have kids with other people. I live mostly with my mom and my younger brother blah blah blah blah...

    Also by getting them to talk, you can elaborate more on things that sound interesting like, "Oh! Tell me more about that!"

    EDIT: I should also say don't ask yes or no questions. They leave you with not much to go off of. Also, try to avoid stereotypical (BORING) questions. No, "What's your favorite color?" or "If you were an animal, what would you be?" Those don't get you anywhere.

    View the interviews forum. Now you know what I have to deal with all the time.

    Anyway, just ask them how they came to be whereever they are, their family, friends, sports, video gaming, cars, ect.

    No I don't ask about cars or sports, but I don't care about them do I?

    Ehh...Prolly a little late to say anything at this point...but what kind of interview is it exactly? Like is this just a general interview to learn about a person? Are you supposed to be pretending you're offering some kind of job, promotion...I mean in almost all interviews, some personal questions are asked, but the majority of them pertain to the specific topic.

    So I uh ...

    Dropped that class.

    Basically, I didn't like the instructor or anyone in the class (even though it was Public Speaking, it was one of those classes where people just ... sit there). I will only take Public Speaking if its absolutely necessary, or sometime in the future with a better instructor and whatnot. I'm assuming my mom will be pissed, but hey, I run my life.

    Well, it happens. In my case, it's happened a lot. I get a class that seems interesting and the instructor just rubs me the wrong way with their teaching style, among other things.

    Well hey, the questions can be used for something else in the future. You never know.
