| ok I'll answer the question. First the sunglasses gave him the ability to make anythin he wanted. Any wish, any desire, anything he could imagine would become reality with just a few words. They also actually re-wrote the laws of the universe itself at one point actually making 2+2=3.
Second the side affects were that they were like a drug to him. Using the glasses made him feel good, and if he took them off he'd literally start to go through withdrawal symptoms like a coke addict or alcoholic. And the reason that he couldn't change any of the things he did was because HE did them. Someone ELSE could fix it but not him.
